The Global Dimension Team
Climate change, resource depletion and population explosion affects us all across the globe. Climate change is a truly global issue and one that we all have a responsibility to prevent. By working with students and schools across the world we can gain a much greater understanding of the direct effects of our actions and support each other in creating a brighter future.

Green Is Global 2011
All of last year our Environmental Leaders have been involved in a joint sustainability project around water, working with Backwell school in Bristol and Angoreb school in Ethiopia. The leaders carried out a survey of their water use and compare it with the water used by students in Bristol and our partner school in Angoreb.
The Leaders also worked with Surfers against Sewage on a project called 'Return to Offender' attending a workshop at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, carrying out a beach clean along Falmouth's beaches and then posting the rubbish collected back to the manufacturers with a note asking them to improve their packaging to make it more user friendly
All this work culminated in some of our students attending the Green is Global International Student and Headteachers conference held at the Eden Project in October. This was a three day event where student ambassadors from across the world came together to share their experiences and culture and learn from each other. On the first two days students attended workshop activities discussing issues of sustainability that affect us globally and went to an informal cultural event in the evening to spend time with their fellow global friends.
On the third day all the students went to County Hall in Truro where they presented the findings of their joint project to each other and make a pledge to create change in their own communities when they return from the conference.
Green is Global continues to be an active group of schools from across the world who work together to improve the lives of their communities by acting sustainably. Some Questions I would like to know
· What connections do we already have with other countries
· Are there any link between these school and environmental issues
· How could we go about building up our relationships between them and any others we may manage to make
· Could we make a student exchange where some of our pupils go over there for a while and some of theirs come over here
· How could we compare our resources with theirs
